Mr. Alan’s Southside Grand Opening Is A Stellar Success

The bustling corner of 47th St. and Cottage Grove welcomes a new neighbor to the Bronzeville business community. Mr. Alan’s quietly opened their doors a month ago but hosted an official grand opening this past Friday with ‘bells and whistles.’

Hosted by Quad Communities Development Corporation, the ribbon cutting ceremony brought out 4th Ward Alderman Sophia King; Mr. Alan’s co-CEO Jacob Bishop; Jada Russell of HSMPR; Power 92 mixshow personalities DJ Nephets and DJ R Dubb along with business leaders and well-wishers.

For the past three years, Wal Mart Grocery store, Subway, Uncle Remus and Burger King have occupied the Shops and Lofts Shopping Center. Since 1974, the apparel store has grown beyond their Detroit metropolitan headquarters to open several locations throughout the mid-west. The Southside location marks their sixth store in the Chicago area.
