Katharin “Ladie K” Mraz is a media producer based out of Chicago. She is CEO and founder of Ladie K Productions, Inc. a media marketing production company. Although in the eyes of many she may live the glamorous life, her hard work and perseverance has been her biggest asset since day one.
Where Katharin Mraz came from:
Katharin was adopted from Korea at the age of 2 to an American family of Irish German decent. Her mother, father, and two older brothers were Caucasian; Katharin, Asian. Often times Mraz felt she was apart of two separate worlds at the same time. Asian adoptees were still a rather new concept in America throughout the 1990’s. “It was hard for people to understand that I was apart of a white family. In the end you have to realize that they’re not trying to be mean. They just didn’t know what to say.”
School was no cakewalk for young Mraz either. Her grades were too high to be “cool” and her actions too weird to make friends. She dressed like a tomboy, and looked “funny” compared to her Caucasian peers. Making friends was not easy for Katie (as they called her back then). Since then she has stuck to the thought “quality over quantity” when regarding friends. Ms. Mraz no longer feels she is an outsider of the popular crowd.
Finding her passion for the arts at the age of 11, Mraz spent her teenage years expressing herself through various different creative mediums. Music, art, acting, and writing soon consumed her life as a young adult, helping her through some of the toughest times. Modeling came next, and although Katharin never strived to be a model until after she married in 2006, it is what she’s known for by most.
Who is Ladie K:
Ladie K, the self-expressionist superstar movie producer, officially began her career in Hawaii as a model, actress, and screenwriter. Her first taste of modeling came when she was 8 months pregnant in 2006. She modeled for four different photographers in Honolulu during her last few weeks of pregnancy, and had a blast while doing so. Ladie K had over 36 photographers take her picture in Hawaii the two and a half years she lived there.
“I expected that modeling would end there, but it didn’t. Suddenly every photographer in Hawaii wanted to take my picture, even after I gave birth and lost my big belly.”
Prior to Hawaii, K began screenwriting, and used this talent to step into the independent film industry on the islands. “I can honestly say I started my film career as a paid screenwriter.” Before leaving Hawaii, she had the opportunity to work as a writer, producer, or actress on film or television sets ranging from low-budged independents, student films, and film festival submissions to larger productions for LA, NYC, British, and Japanese based companies.
After her divorce in 2008 Katharin Mraz returned to Chicago with her child, ready to take over the world. Since she’s been home, Ladie K has been published in numerous magazines, featured on all sorts of websites, and is an international success. On top of that, her business, officially established in 2011, has grown from producing low-budget film shorts and event coordination, into Ladie K Productions, Inc.

Studio K:
Katharin Mraz is and advocate of green living, woman’s rights, and apart of the gay and lesbian community. Her mission now is to open up a socially responsible “green” studio, to be called Studio K. Ladie K’s will focus will be on socioeconomic and environmental equality in entertainment, and consumerism. In the near future she hopes to introduce environmentally friendly alternatives for the entertainment industry in regards to media production.
